chiropractic

Chiropractic care is a hands-on therapy which specializes in the assessment and treatment of spinal related conditions. While we typically think of neck pain or low back pain for adjustments, adjustments can also be effective in treating other issues such as shoulder, knee and foot/ankle conditions.

myofascial release

Myofascial release is a term referring to the treatment and release of muscle and fascial tension. The release of the tension is achieved with specific movements, motions and manual pressure to increase blood flow and range-of-motion to the treated body part.

graston therapy

Graston is a common term used for ‘scrapping’ or instrument assisted soft tissue manipulation. This therapy is designed to promote connective tissue and tendon healing after irritating the area with a special tool made of surgical grade stainless steel. This therapy is commonly used for -itis or -osis type conditions (i.e. achilles tendinitis).

sports medicine

Sports medicine is typically seen as the evaluation and treatment of “sports” related injuries. While getting injured playing sports may be easier to understand, sometimes we get injured playing the sport of life. “Injuries” can occur from anything really, working from home, playing with kids, picking up a small object or even the dreaded, “ I woke up like this” pain.

A sports medicine treatment approach is about restoring movement, strength and function so you can live life comfortably.

cupping therapy

Cupping therapy uses plastic, silicone or glass cups to suction up on the skin. The negative pressure creates a separation of tissue layers at a specific location or problem area. Bruising is common with this therapy.

rehabilitation

As humans we are built to move, but when we get injured we tend to move less. While resting can help reduce pain, it does not necessarily lead to proper healing. Proper healing occurs when we are doing specific movements and exercises that allow our body to become more durable. By creating a specific rehabilitation program we can find ways to safely move while getting stronger until we are 100%. This speeds up the healing process and helps prevent future injuries. After your initial session with Dr. Paul he will create an at-home program specific to you.

kinesiology tape

If you’ve watched a sporting event, the chances are high you’ve seen an athlete with this tape on. The tape is easy to apply, made of nylon and is designed to be more flexible than traditional athletic tape. Different taping techniques are utilized to promote movement, restrict movement or reduce swelling/ bruising.
